Description
6" (15 cm.) Porcelain head with flanged neck, sculpted short blonde curly hair, painted facial features, blue eyes, brown one-stroke brows, tiny closed mouth, on original cloth-over-wooden torso, cloth upper arms and legs, porcelain lower arms and legs, bare feet, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent, restoration to right foot. Comments: Germany, circa 1860. Value Points: charming little doll with rare variation of head construction, original body; the doll is shown in The Collector's Encyclopedia of Dolls by Coleman, page 136.
