Description
24" (61 cm.) Bisque socket head with highly-characterized features of adult man with small
brown glass sleep eyes,very long pointed nose,jutting chin and angular facial shape,sculpted
brows in high-angled curves with comb-marked details,painted lashes,accented
nostrils,closed mouth with wide beaming smile with outlined lips,row of painted teeth,pierced
ears,brunette human hair,composition and wooden ball-jointed body. Condition: generally
excellent. Comments: Simon and Halbig,their 1305 model,the exact doll appeared in Marlene
Leuzzi's 1970s doll value guide,shown from her collection. The 1305 model,with its highly
characterized expression,was presented by Simon and Halbig in various presentations; for
example,it was also presented with sienna complexion as a witch (see January 2010
catalog,#129). Value Points: extremely rare model in wonderful large size with superb
modeling enhanced by incised age and laughter lines,beautiful pale complexion with subtle
blushing,wears antique gypsy costume (as shown in Leuzzi book),14 karat gold single earring
and carries a fine wooden violin.
