Description
8 1/2" (22 cm.) A heavy bronze three-part folding frame with elaborately scrolled garlands and
curled feet presents a predominant center scene with two complementary side scenes. The
scenes are of fine hand-painted enameled porcelain with slightly-curved fronts for dimensional
effect,and feature a blue-gowned lady seated on a Directoire style settee in a garden setting; as
she admires herself in a dainty hand mirror,a dapper gentleman with maroon jacket,lacy jabot
and walking stick leans over the settee trying to engage her in conversation. The two side panels
have garden scenes,and the back sides have original silk cover. Excellent condition. French,19th
century.
