15" (38 cm.) Pressed bisque socket head,very large blue glass enamel spiral-threaded eyes in so-called "wrap-around" style,thick dark eyeliner,painted curly lashes,mauve blushed eye shadow,shaded nostrils,closed mouth with defined space between the outlined lips,pierced ears,blonde mohair early wig over cork pate,French composition and wooden eight-loose- ball-jointed body with straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 2/0 (head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau,circa 1878,his early period luxury portrait bebe. Value Points: gorgeous face with large "wrap-around" eyes enhanced by very dramatic thick eyeliner,superb bisque and painting with softly-blushed eyelids,cheeks and chin,original early body and body finish in especially fine condition,and wearing original Jumeau silk couturier dress,Jumeau necklace,stockings,rose kidskin shoes,and beautiful woven bonnet with rose silk and floral trim.
