Description
15" (38 cm.) Bisque socket head with three different faces that are alternately-revealed by turning of knob at the top of the head,including smiling face with blue glass eyes,closed mouth with very dimpled laughing expression; crying face with blue glass eyes and sculpted "tears",closed mouth with sculpted tongue,and impressed frown lines; and sleeping face with painted closed eyes and closed mouth. The head is enclosed in a cardboard cap with forms into a shoulder plate,carton torso with pull-string working crier,composition jointed limbs. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Carl Bergner,circa 1892. Value Points: especially fine detail of modeling including modeled tears,original blonde mohair wig,original body and beautifully-detailed original costume.
