10" (25 cm.) Solid domed bisque head with flat-cut neck socket designed to pivot upon the
torso dowel,slender facial shape of adult lady,amber-tinted complexion,narrow brown glass
inset eyes in slanted eye cut,painted lashes,feathered brows,accented nostrils,closed
mouth,accent line between the downcast lips,pierced ears,black mohair wig in upswept
fashion,amber tinted composition and wooden fully-jointed body with jointing at elbows and
knees,neck dowel,painted stockings and sienna shoes with upturned toes. Condition:
generally excellent. Marks: 193 0. Comments: Sonneberg,circa 1885,the doll was created to
appeal to the French market,the facial painting is suggestive of Kling. Value Points: exquisite
painting of the very beautiful portrait lady with flawless amber complexion,original elaborate
hair,original rare body style with upturned toes of painted shoes,lovely antique costume.
