10" (25 cm.) Bisque socket head with very plump face and cheeks,blue glass paperweight inset
eyes,thick dark eyeliner,dark painted lashes,brush-stroked and feathered brows,accented
nostrils and eye corners,closed mouth with accented lips,dimpled chin,pierced ears,blonde
mohair wig over cork pate,French composition and wooden eight-loose-ball jointed body
with straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: R. 6/0 D. (early block letters).
Comments: Rabery and Delphieu,circa 1880,the early model closely resembles the early block
letter bebe by Gaultier. Value Points: gorgeous face with dramatic painting around the
eyes,original body and body finish,the petite 10" doll is wearing an original woolen costume
with colorful feather-stitch embroidery,fancy bonnet,undergarments,leather shoes,carries a
bone-handled parasol with green silk and black lace cover,and has a watch on chain with
exquisite enamel design on the reverse. She is accompanied by a fur-covered dog with black
bead eyes and tail.
