20" (51 cm.) Bisque socket head with very plump round face shape,over-sized large round
eyes with blue glass "flirty" eyes that operate from a wire lever at the back of head,dark
eyeliner,smoky grey eyeshadow,widely-arched dark grey brows,small upturned nose with
nostril accents,closed mouth with shaded and accented lips that have dimples at lip
corners,brunette mohair bobbed wig,composition and wooden ball-jointed body with side-hip
jointing. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Einco 9 Heubach (in square) Germany 27.
Comments: Gebruder Heubach for Eisenmann & Co,the English toy import firm; the Eisenmann
firm registered DRGM 504 419 in 1912 which was likely this doll,commissioned exclusively for
their firm from Heubach. The exact doll is shown in the book The History and Art of
Googlies,page 39. Value Points: very rare grand size of the amusing doll with unique flirty
eyes,original toddler body,wonderful quality of bisque and painting,great antique costume
including woolen cap,striped jacket,silk tie,shirt,trousers,kidolene shoes,and socks.
