12" (30 cm.) Bisque socket head with rounded facial shape,large blue glass googly side-glancing
eyes,short painted lashes,one stroke brows,tiny button-shaped nose,closed mouth with shy
impish smile,brunette human hair wig,five-piece composition toddler body,nice antique
costume. Condition; generally excellent. Marks: 241 1. Comments: Marseille,circa 1915,the
wigged version of their googly that was clearly inspired by the Kewpie design; a companion to
the painted hair version (see lot 331). Value Points: most endearing expression of the dear
character that wonderfully combines sweetness and mischief,very fine quality of bisque and
painting.
