Bisque socket head with richly-shaded sienna complexion,painted facial features,brown shaded eyes with decorative glaze,thick black upper eyeliner,incised eyeliner,very strong nose with flared nostrils,black one stroke brows,closed mouth with solemn expression,black mohair wig in long braid,brown composition and wooden ball- jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 1303 Germany S&H 3. Comments: Simon and Halbig,circa 1910 from their art character series. Value Points: this large example of the 1303 has absolutely superior quality of sculpted facial features with furrowed lines around the nose bridge,eye corners,and mouth,flawless complexion,original wig,original body and body finish,and wearing superb costume,likely original,of fringed trousers,kidskin tunic with fringing and beads,beaded moccasins,and beaded head-dress.
