facial modeling,large round blue glass
side-glancing googly eyes,dark eyeliner,curly
painted upper lashes,button-shaped nose with
accented nostrils,closed mouth with
watermelon-slice-shaped smile and outlined
lips,blonde mohair wig over plaster
pate,composition and wooden ball-jointed toddler
body with side-hip jointing,very defined
musculature detail,curled fingers. wearing
original white pique romper suit over muslin
undergarments,stockings,red kidolene shoes,and an
over-sized flowered bonnet. Condition: generally
excellent,eyes are set. Marks: H made in Germany
12 JDK 221. Comments: Kestner,circa 1912,the
model was offered to compete with the popular
bisque Kewpie character which was,curiously,also
made by Kestner. Kewpie,however,also necessitated
the payment of royalties or licensing fees,and
this model did not. Value Points: the extremely
rare largest size model known of the 221
googly,has its original soft mohair bobbed
wig,pate,rare unique and original toddler body,and
exceptional quality of bisque and painting
