9" (23 cm.) Bisque socket head,blue glass paperweight inset eyes,dark eyeliner,lushly-painted
dark lashes,widely-arched brush-stroked brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth with outlined
lips,pierced ears,hip-length blonde mohair wig over cork pate,French composition and
wooden fully-jointed body with straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: (artist
checkmarks on back of head,one mark appearing as though a tiny black 0) Jumeau Medaille
d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau,circa 1886,the first period of the tete model as
indicated by straight wrist body. Value Points: especially charming petite 9" bebe has beautiful
bisque and painting,superb original wig,original body and body finish,and is wearing lovely
lace dress,undergarments,knit stockings. brown leather shoes with silk rosettes signed "J" (in
oval) and "O". She has a turquoise bead necklace,Jumeau earrings,bone-handled parasol with
turquoise hand grip and (frail) patterned silk cover and fringe. Along with her old
trunk,labeled Samaritaine from the famous paris department store,and containing a nice
assortment of old costume elements as well as her original red silk banner "Bebe Jumeau".
