11" (28 cm.) Bisque shoulderhead of adult lady with perfectly oval face and elongated throat, sculpted blonde hair drawn from face captured in a green painted snood edged with purple lustre ribbon and white feather, black outlined painted blue eyes with fringed lashes, single-stroke brows, closed mouth, muslin stitch-jointed body, bisque lower arms and legs, painted six lace boots, nicely costumed. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Germany, circa 1870. Value Points: excellent detail of painting of eyes, rare coiffure and hair ornaments. Private collection Lorna Lieberman.
