enamel inset eyes with spiral threading,dark eyeliner,painted lashes,mauve blushed eye-
shadow,daintily-painted lashes,feathered brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed
mouth with outlined lips,pierced ears,original blonde lambswool wig over original
pate,composition and wooden eight-loose-ball jointed body with straight wrists,cupped
hands. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Sch (in shield) 4/0 (head) (also Sch shield mark
on body). Comments: Schmitt et Fils,circa 1878. Value Points: an outstanding doll,notable
not only for its very rare size 4/0,but also for its exquisite original presentation including
original wig,pate,body (in superb condition),and fabulous costume comprising cream
cashmere wool dress with bronze silk trim,brass buttons,silk bonnet with floral
garland,enamel watch with sleeping kitten figural fob,leather shoes with silk rosettes,and
bronze silk parasol with carved bone handle and lace trim.
