Description
17" (43 cm.) Bisque socket head,tiny blue glass sleep eyes,painted lashes,feathered
brows,accented nostrils,small closed mouth with downcast lips,blonde mohair wig over
plaster pate,composition and wooden ball-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent.
Marks: D made in Germany 8 212 (head) Germany (red stamp on body). Comments:
Kestner,circa 1910,the rare character was presented by that firm with painted or the rarer
glass eyes. Value Points: most endearing expression is enhanced by finest quality of bisque
having luminous patina,pensive expression,original wig,pate,body and body finish,and
wearing her factory original dress,with undergarments,kidskin shoes,wire-framed bonnet and
a gold-plated brooch inscribed "Darling",and she is holding a small candy container box
decorated with a miniature figure of a little girl holding a doll.
