Comments: "Allie Kat" and her companion dog, were designed by the American artist Georgene Averill,of Portland,Oregon and later of New York City, whose involvement in the doll industry included bisque doll designs for the George Borgfeldt firm where she was employed for some time,as well as designs for composition and cloth dolls created in her own firms of Averill Dolls and Madame Hendren Dolls. Allie Kat was made in Germany, circa 1925,and was created in either white or tawny color; few examples appear to have been made based on its rarity. Value Points: rare and delightful animal doll designed by American artist is wonderfully preserved.
