17" (43 cm.) Solid domed bisque socket head,sculpted hair with well-defined topknot,forelock
curl and curls above each ear,large intaglio-sculpted blue side-glancing googly eyes glancing to
the left and downward,black and incised upper eyeliner,white eyedots,curved one-stroke
brows,upturned rounded nose,unusually-shaped closed mouth as though aghast,composition
and wooden ball-jointed toddler body with side-hip jointing,antique sailor costume. Condition:
generally excellent. Marks: 8556 Heubach (in square) Germany 7. Comments: Gebruder
Heubach,circa 1912. Value Points: extremely rare googly has superb expression,enhanced by
impeccable quality of sculpting such as fretful crease lines around the eyes,nose and mouth,very
