Bisque socket head,painted grey upper-glancing eyes with shaded detail,thick black upper eyeliner,incised eyeliner,short feathered brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth with extended accent line between the small wistful-lips,brunette mohair bobbed wig,composition and wooden ball-jointed body,wearing superb navy blue velvet suit with pearl buttons,woolen sailor cap,woolen knit stockings,kid shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: C.P. 212 34. Comments: Catterfelder Puppenfabrick,circa 1910,the firm offered their 200 series of "character dolls of excellent beauty" (according to their advertisements) and took great pains to distinguish them from their ordinary line. Value Points: extremely rare doll,this 212 model is previously undocumented. The rarity,enhancing the most endearing poignant expression is achieved by very pronounced sculpting of facial planes and finest quality of bisque and painting.
