25" (64 cm.) Bisque socket head with elongated pear-shaped facial modeling,very full
cheeks,almond-shaped blue glass paperweight inset eyes,thick dark eyeliner,painted curly
lashes,rose-blushed eye shadow,accented eye corners,pointy-tip nose with shaded
nostrils,closed mouth with defined space between the shaded and outlined lips,heart-shaped
upper lip,impressed cheek dimples,pierced ears,brunette mohair wig,French composition and
wooden eight-ball-loose-jointed body with flat-cut derriere and straight wrists. Condition:
generally excellent. Marks: Sch (in shield mark) 4 1/2 (head) Sch (in shield mark,on flat cut of
derriere). Comments: Schmitt et Fils,circa 1885. Value Points: an outstanding example of the
classic pear-shaped face bebe by Schmitt with superior quality of bisque and
sculpting,original signed body and body finish,beautiful antique dress with
undergarments,leather shoes signed with full figure of a doll and "10",and lace-edged tulle
ruffled bonnet.
