5 1/2" (14 cm.) Pale bisque swivel head on elongated bisque torso,blue glass enamel inset
eyes,painted lashes,feathered brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed mouth with
outlined lips,peg-jointed elongated bisque arms and legs with ball-jointing at elbows,bare
feet,original blonde mohair wig. Condition: generally excellent,small professional restoration at
back neck rim and rim of right leg. Marks: Bte (torso). Comments: French,circa 1880,the ball-
jointed elbow mignonette was deposed by Sustrac in 1877 and by Schmitt et Fils in 1879. Value
Points: very rare model with Bte markings,very beautiful face and painting,extremely rare jointed
elbows,bare feet,and wearing exquisite antique silk and lace original gown with superb lace
coiffe.
