1 3/4" (4 cm.) l. necessaire. Comprising a very rare firm-sided angular box with red leather cover
and gold tooling,that hinges open to reveal the well-fitted interior consisting of bone needle
case,thimble and awl,scissors and needle on green velvet. (hinge detached on lid); along with a
valise-shaped necessaire with brass frame that opens from fold-down flap at the front to reveal
various sewing implements and threads; along with two early cardboard miniature calenders with
decorative paper edging,1868 and 1870. Excellent condition except as noted. Mid-19th
