Description
7" shoulder width. 15" waist. 18" overall length.
Of burgundy wool serge,the two-piece ensemble
includes a jacket with full gathered bodice below
a fitted yoke that is overlaid with loosely-woven
embroidered lace. There are long coat sleeves with
gathers at the shoulders. The flat-front skirt has
inverted double pleats at the back,and there is a
silk ruffle at the neckline,and grosgrain white
braid at the cuffs and the skirt. Hidden hooks and
eyes are at the front placket. Circa 1885.
