Description
4 " shoulder width. 8 " waist. 14" overall length.
Of a crisp mauve taffeta silk in so-called
"changeable color",the low-rounded neckline
(designed to be fore with a chemisette or blouse)
features a fitted bodice at front and back,and a
widely-flared skirt with wide double-box pleats
all around. The gown is trimmed with very delicate
black Alencon lace. Circa 1860.
