Description
6 " shoulder width. 12" waist. 17" skirt length.
24" overall length. A textured white cotton is
transfer-printed with little red stars,comprising
an ensemble with fitted hip-length jacket having
coat-style sleeves,hidden button front,and tie
strings at the waist of the shorter-length back;
the jacket has rows of vertical tucking and wide
bands of handmade cotton lace that is repeated at
the wrist ruffles and neckline. The gore-shaped
skirt has a V-inset at the bottom center back for
detail,and the hem is edged with matching cotton
lace. Circa 1870.
