Description
4" shoulder width. 8" waist. 13" overall length.
The textured white cotton dress has rounded
neckline with fabric banding,slightly-high waist
with full bodice that is framed by wide bretelles
from the waist and extending around the back to
form a deep collar,narrow sleeves formed of three
rows of cotton lace in a petal-like design,and a
full skirt formed from narrow cartridge pleats at
the set-in waistband. The bretelles and back
collar are edged with matching sleeve lace. Along
with a superb bonnet with silk mesh snood back
designed to capture the hair,and two rows of cream
cotton lace ruffles framing the face and forming
into a neck bavolet,trimmed with ivory silk
frou-frou ribbons and streamers. Circa 1860.
