Description
4.5" (11 cm.) logs. The amusing group of objects began their life in Parisian candy stores as containers for candies, designed to add a special delight for a young child, and then intended for later play with dolls or dollhouses. Included are two Christmas logs with bark-texture finish and silk sacques; three cardboard kitchen pots, one with brass handle and a man's paper mache face on the silk-covered lid; three suitcases or valises in various styles, and an unusual tiny washstand with faux-metal faucet and gilt decoration, whose base removes for candy access. Very good/excellent condition. French,late-19th/early20th century.
