Description
4.5" (11 cm.) logs. The amusing group of objects
began their life in Parisian candy stores as
containers for candies,designed to add a special
delight for a young child,and then intended for
later play with dolls or dollhouses. Included are
two Christmas logs with bark-texture finish and
silk sacques; three cardboard kitchen pots,one
with brass handle and a man's paper mache face on
the silk-covered lid; three suitcases or valises
in various styles,and an unusual tiny washstand
with faux-metal faucet and gilt decoration,whose
base removes for candy access. Very good/excellent
condition. French,late-19th/early20th century.
