14" (36 cm.) Pressed composition socket head with highly-defined facial features and rich ebony black complexion,painted black eyes with white eyedots,accented nostrils,closed mouth with very full lips,black mohair wig,black composition and wooden fully-jointed body,wearing antique costume comprising safari jacket and pressed flannel hat,short trousers,black stockings,leather boots. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Marion Kaulitz,circa 1908,whose character dolls were introduced at the Munich exhibition in 1908 as"example of a doll reform in arts" and who is credited with inspiring the art doll movement of that era. Value Points: black-complexioned models of the Kaulitz dolls are extremely rare,this example with fine original complexion and highly-detailed characterization.
