20" (51 cm.) Standing upon a fabric covered
platform which contains mechanism,is a
bisque-headed girl with blue glass paperweight
inset eyes,dark eyeliner,painted lashes,accented
nostrils,closed mouth,pierced ears,blonde mohair
wig over cork pate,carton torso and legs,bisque
forearms,wearing blue silk and lace dress of
antique fabrics,antique
undergarments,socks,shoes,and bonnet,and holding
antique powder pull in one hand and silk and bone
folding fan in the other. When wound,music
plays,she turns and nods her head,and alternately
lifts the powder puff and fan. Condition:
generally excellent,music and motion function
well. Marks: Depose Tete Jumeau Bte SGDG 4 (head)
(early Lambert key is attached). Comments: Leopold
Lambert,circa 1888. Value Points: charming action
and music is enhanced by beautiful presentation of
the doll.
