Description
22" (56 cm.) The wooden armoire with dark mahogany
finish has arched crest top,single mirrored
door,single bottom drawer,ball feet,and is
decorated with gilt metal garlands and cherubs
that center a cameo medallion. The inside door has
an original label"Trousseau for Bebes 5 & 6"
indicating the proper costume elements for a
Jumeau bebe size 5 & 6,along with various
ribbon-wrapped linens and undergarments of which
some are original and others added during child
play of the era. Excellent condition. French,circa
1885,the armoire was offered by various Parisian
department stores in their Etrennes gift catalogs
for children,and was designed to be placed with a
size 5 or 6 Jumeau bebe.
