14" (36 cm.) Porcelain shoulder head with very
pale complexion,black sculpted hair with
center-part arranged in loosely-coiled
chignon,painted cobalt blue eyes with very thick
black outline,painted black lashes,feathered
brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed
mouth with gentle smile on accented lips,sculpted
(but not decorated) earrings,French kid
gusset-jointed poupee body,wearing lovely fashion
gown,undergarments,blue kidskin slippers.
Condition: generally excellent,some typical rubs
on hair. Comments: French,circa 1860. Value
Points: exquisite painting of eyes that is so rich
as to give impression of being glass eyes,charming
smiling expression.
