15" (38 cm.) including base. A bisque head with slender face and elongated throat has blue glass paperweight inset eyes,dark eyeliner,painted dark curly lashes,widely arched brush-stroked brows with fringed detail,rose-blushed eye shadow,accented eye corners,shaded nostrils,closed mouth with heart-shaped outlined lips,separately-modeled pierced ears,wheat-blonde human hair wig; the head has a wooden neck dowel that connects the head to its ebony-finished wooden plinth. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: B. Bru No.3. Comments: Leon Casimir Bru,who advertised mannequin model heads in the Parisian L'Annuaire du Commerce,circa 1880,the head was designed to be displayed on a shop counter as a display piece for stylish wigs or bonnets. Value Points: very fine quality of sculpting,bisque and painting.
