Description
22" (56 cm.) A paper mache clown with painted
white complexion that is decorated with clown
features and red nose tip has brown glass
eyes,open mouth with painted teeth and movable
tongue,white and red wiry mohair wig in clownish
style,carton torso and legs,bisque forearms; and
is posed seated on a wooden stool atop a
tapestry-covered wooden stage,holding a wooden
mandolin. When wound,he turns his head side to
side,strums the mandolin,moves his left leg up and
down as though in time to the music,and humorously
sticks his tongue in and out at his
supposed-audience; music plays. Condition:
generally excellent,mechanism and music function
well. Marks: L.B. (key). Comments: Leopold
Lambert,circa 1890. Value Points: well-preserved
original condition with silk clown
