Description
18" (46 cm.) Seated upon a tall-back wooden chair
is a bisque-headed doll with brown glass
eyes,mohair lashes,open mouth,four porcelain
teeth,pierced ears,blonde mohair wig,carton torso
and lower legs,bisque forearms. She is holding a
little book"Les Hirondelles" that she tries over
and over again to read,lifting the book up and
down,and lowering and raising her eyes. Meanwhile
a colorful butterfly flits back and forth above
her head,in a teasing manner,and music plays.
Condition: generally excellent. Comments:
French,circa 1895. Value Points: perfectly
preserved,and well-functioning music and
mechanism,the little girl wears factory original
rose satin dress with colorful sequin trim.
