17" (43 cm.) Earthenware shoulder head sculpted turned to the side,thickly-sculpted grey hair and curled beard,brown enamel eyes,grey painted brows,closed mouth with suggestion of teeth,hemp-wrapped body with expressively-sculpted fingers. Condition: generally excellent. some flaking to paint on hands,one finger tip chipped. Comments: Neopolitan,early-19th century model. Value Points: depicting a man of the village,the figure has very artistic expression and painting,wearing his original costume.
