13" (33 cm.) Bisque socket head, brown glass sleep and side-glancing googly eyes, dark eyeliner, delicately-painted curly lashes, side-angled brows with ochre shading, button-shaped nose, closed mouth watermelon-slice shaped smile, blonde mohair bobbed wig over plaster pate, composition and wooden ball-jointed toddler body with wonderful muscular detail, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: K made in Germany 10 JDK 221 Ges Gesch. Comments: Kestner, circa 1912, this googly model was inspired by O'Neill's glass-eyed Kewpie, which Kestner also produced. Value Points: very fine quality of bisque, sculpting, painting, wonderful expression, original body, body finish, wig and pate.
