Description
10" (25 cm.) x 7". A wooden framed slate-board
desk with slanted hinged top has an interior
compartment with a number of
penmanship,numerals,and drawing panels that could
be interchanged with the upper exterior panel and
were designed to be used as a learning tool. The
bottom of the desk bears its original paper
label"Just out for 1877,Shepherd's Monitor Slate
Desk...Patented January 11,1877 and January
12,1877,C.C. Shepherd" and pencil inscribed on the
inside is"Hawkeye Johnnie Preston 1885". Excellent
condition.
