Description
15" (38 cm.) x 12". A lightwood box with card
paper lid and drawer is covered with hand-painted
paper in abstract flower patterns in shades of red
and blue The lid hinges open to reveal a
well-fitted interior; the inside lid has centered
mirror framed by delicate decoupage courtly
designs; and the box itself contains six various
boxes with blue paper lids decorated with
decoupage. Rose silk bows and ribbons decorate the
box,and there is a bottom drawer. Good
condition,there is some typical discoloration to
mirror,and some paper spotting on the lid.
Probably French,late-18th century.
