Description
24" (61 cm.) x 20" x 21". A fine walnut or
mahogany wood with warm brown natural finish,is
used in the construction of an elaborate stairway
and gallery; Resting upon a wooden platform is a
21" x 13" gallery area with spindled side and back
railings. Four wide stairs lead from the platform
to the gallery,and arising from the gallery to an
observation platform is a double curving staircase
with matching spindled railings. Elaborately
constructed,the model is appealing from both front
and back sides,and effectively captures the Art
Nouveau sensibility during which period the model
was created. Excellent condition. French,late-19th
century,the model would perfectly be displayed
with small all-bisque mignonettes,theatre dolls,or
dollhouse-sized Grodnertal dolls.
