Comments: the model marketed by Leon Casimir Bru as Bebe Modele, the doll was made for 2 or 3 years only, circa 1880,and was one of the most expensive luxury dolls offered by this firm that was noted for luxury quality in each doll. Few examples were ever made, and it is possible that the number 28 refers to an actual series production number. Value Points: very rare doll with superb quality of facial sculpting especially around the eyes and mouth, the rare body with fine original finish has detailed-sculpting of hands, fingers, palms of hands, and toes and is beautifully-articulated. Her original dress is included along with leather shoes signed C.M. and woven straw hat.
