Description
13" (33 cm.) The wooden-framed doll stroller whose
upright chair is upholstered in rich plum-colored
velvet has two larger spoked wheels at the back
and a smaller wheel at the front hidden under the
extended foot rest that is upholstered in rich
tapestry. The scroll-cut frame with elaborate trim
and arches is decorated with gold leaf embossed
design paper bands; a hinged wooden handle is at
the back. Excellent condition. Louis
Badeuille,circa 1880,the firm specialized in
creation of gilt-decorated wooden dollhouse
furnishings and doll accessories; this early exact
doll stroller in shown in The Encyclopedia of
French Dolls by Theimer,page 46,and is very rare
to find.
