3.5" (9 cm.) people. A large collection of carved wooden figures with painted features and costumes,along with carved wooden food stuffs and market supplies. Included are six vignettes with wooden bases,each with one or two people,offering wares ranging from earthenware jugs or wooden bowls or brooms to sausage; as well as eight additional men and women,along with five tables of food stuffs ranging from sugar cones to fish to mushrooms,and with six additional tubs of other foods including pickles. Condition: good to excellent,original finish on all with some typical small chips or wear,one woman missing an arm. Germany,Erzebirge,mid-19th century,very rare to find and wonderfully-detailed.
