Description
21" (53 cm.) Each is of wax with
exquisitely-detailed sculpting of facial
planes,enamel inset eyes,lightly-tinted
features,he with brown tousled hair,she with long
flowing blonde hair. The dolls are posed in a
scene from The Witching Hour,she reclining upon a
fine recamier,wearing antique lace gown,her wax
arms held as though to protect herself,her head
tossed backward,and he kneeling at her side in a
beseeching manner. Excellent condition. 1990s,the
dolls were created by artist Liz Shaw to represent
Lasher and Rowan from the Anne Rice novel The
Witching Hour,and were a gift from her publisher
Knopf. An autographed photograph of Anne Rice with
the dolls is included. One-of-a-kind.
