Description
23" (58 cm.) A sculpted head woman in the 18th
century manner has whitened wig with ringlet
curls,whitened complexion with painted features
including downcast eyes as though gazing at the
performance of the puppets below,and is wearing
her original tapestry gown with lace edged collar
and cuffs,and a wide pannier-style skirt which is
opened at the front to reveal a hand-painted
theatrical background. She holds two sculpted
puppets that are posed in front of the scene. From
the celebrated "Panniere" series by the
artist,signed Nancy Wiley on the doll,1990s.
