Description
17" (43 cm.) Pressed bisque socket head with very
plump face and throat,painted blue downcast eyes
with darker blue outer iris rims,heavily-modeled
eyelids with painted lashes,feathered brows,glazed
highlights at bottom edge of eyes,shaded
nostrils,closed mouth with lightly outlined
lips,un-pierced ears,blonde lambswool wig over
kidskin cap and pate,wooden articulated poupee
body with dowel-jointing at
shoulders,elbows,hips,and knees,metal hands.
Condition: generally excellent,head and body are
both Huret although of different eras. Marks:
Huret 68 rue de Boetie (impressed on body).
Comments: Maison Huret,the bisque head from the
Adelaide Huret era,circa 1860,and the body from
the Prevost era,circa 1910,likely indicating that
the poupee was re-furbished at the Huret studios
at the turn of the century. Value Points: very
beautiful face with superb painting,wooden Huret
body allowing wonderful posing,superb antique silk
gown,undergarments,blouse,stockings,shoes,bonnet,little
leather book.
