About 4"-6". Nine "boites a bon-bons" or candy
containers in a variety of styles ranging from
whimsical to luxurious including: Woven "chair"
whose seat is actually a red silk candy sack;
lacquered basket with red silk candy sack
interior; ivory silk twill shoe with blue ribbons
and ivory silk candy sack; fancy gutta-percha high
heel boot with paper candy sack; needlework-frame
shoe with aqua silk candy sack,embroidered Janvier
1901; velvet and gilt paper covered faux-book that
opens to reveal candy box interior; two luxurious
silk bags in miniature size with cord tassels; and
a velvet and silk candy box with cord,braid and
brass bell trim. Very good to near mint condition.
French,1875-1900,the luxury French bon-bonnieres
presented their deluxe candies in luxury boxes
that were cherished and preserved long after the
candy was gone.
