22" (56 cm.) Russet-brown mohair teddy bear with oval-shaped swivel head, very elongated snout, amber glass eyes, black embroidered nose and mouth, elongated jointed arms, hip-jointed legs, felt paw pads, Good condition, mohair worn on snout, wear on felt paw pads. Germany, Wilhelm Strunz, circa 1905, the firm produced teddy bears and marketing techniques that were direct competition with Steiff, creating extensive litigation between the two firms and resulting in very limited numbers of Strunz bears being created, especially in this large size.
