14" (36 cm.) Bisque socket head with sculpted
green spiked helmet ("pickelhaube") having raised
red letters "32",painted blue eyes with deep
intaglio sculpting,thin red and black upper
eyeliner,single-stroke brows,accented
nostrils,closed mouth with very
full,downcast,pouty lips,Sonneberg composition and
wooden fully-jointed body,wearing antique green
woolen uniform with brass buttons,braid and
leather belt,shoes,socks. Condition: generally
excellent. Marks: 9122 (9129?) Heubach (in square)
Germany. Comments: Gebruder Heubach,circa 1915.
Value Points: very rare character model by
Heubach,the sad-faced soldier has sculpted the
classic Prussian spiked helmet; few other examples
are known to exist.
