12" (30 cm.) Pressed bisque socket head with pear-shaped face,full cheeks,blue glass enamel inset eyes with spiral threading,painted lashes,feathered brows,accented eye corners,shaded nostrils,closed mouth with defined space between the outlined lips,pierced ears,original sparse lambswool wig,French composition and wooden eight-loose-ball jointed body with straight wrists,flat-cut derriere. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Sch (in shield,on head and flat-cut bottom of derriere) 000 (head). Comments: Schmitt et Fils,circa 1882. Value Points: beautiful bebe in appealing size,having flawless bisque and original body,is preserved in her original box along with hand-knit dress,original chemise,split-leg drawers,stockings,blue knit fingerless gloves,pearls,ruffled lace and ribbon bonnet,and leather shoes with silver buckles and snaps; ink written on the box is the name of original owner,Marie Therese,and the note "ne en 1878",and the name "Poupee Meme".
