Description
To fit poupee 16"-17" of the early Huret/Barrois
era. The gown of a firmly-woven linen or homespun
features alternating patterns of blue and cream
design complemented by woven cream borders,The
rounded collar is edged with black velvet banding
and lace,and the puff sleeves are overlaid with
velvet-edged box pleats for an unusual effect. The
set-in waistband is above the box-pleated skirt.
Excellent condition,some fabric mends. Circa 1860.
