Description
15" (38 cm.) Paper mache shoulderhead with heart-shaped face and elongated throat, sculpted black hair with exaggerated clusters of curls at each side of face and high looped curls edged with two rows of braids at her crown, painted upper-glancing blue eyes, single-stroke brows, closed mouth, slender kid body, wooden lower arms and legs, painted yellow shoes. Condition: generally excellent, reglue at ankles. Comments: Germany, circa 1850. Value Points: rarity factors include splendid coiffure, larger size, original sturdy body, and wearing factory original costume. Private collection Lorna Lieberman.
